I have decided to join the ranks of bloggers. My aims for this are currently threefold:
a) to show a broader selection of highlights than will end up on my website from individual shoots. This will help new clients get a real sense of recent and past shoots and know what to expect if they commission me
b) to allow existing clients to keep abreast of any new products or services I might be offering and to get a early preview of any shoots I do for them before the images reach their password protected gallery
c) to share with all photographers - be they amateurs or professionals, or anyone else interested - what I learn month by month from this vast and ever changing industry
We’re already two months into 2009 and I’ve had a productive time attending the Business School and Trade show at the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers), shooting my first maternity pictures, photographing various children, and couples whose weddings I’ll be shooting this year; visiting Focus on Imaging in Birmingham sourcing new products, working with Kieran my web designer - http://www.wonderland-design.co.uk - to make my site even better, getting my first Wedding photo book into production, and even shooting my 2009 Christmas card early one cold and frosty February morning in a wonderful Christmas tree plantation and with the most fabulous 8 year old model a photographer could hope for. How organised is that!
Next week I will be photographing Abby and Beau’s wedding at Phyllis Court in Henley-on-Thames. Last month we had a lovely afternoon in the bright sunshine shooting some pre-wedding pictures. I’m not a huge dog lover but I have to say I slightly fell for their beloved Kaiser even though he only sat still for approximately 2 seconds at a time and almost mistook my lovely new Nikon lens for a bone. Here are some highlights:
