A boat trip across the water, games of tag, feeding the ducks, an Easter egg hunt, bicycle rides and kite flying - all in a day’s play for the Elliott family: Francesca, Maria, John and Catherine. And no one seemed to mind one bit that it was pouring with rain most of the time - a family truly in its element outdoors!
Last Saturday I had the good fortune to photograph someone who is undoubtedly going places: Stevie Parle, chef at Ruth Rogers’ and Rose Gray’s famous River Cafe - www.rivercafe.co.uk. I met up with Stevie at his beautiful barge home on the river in Hammersmith. We were spoiled for choice with backdrops for this shoot with water, weather-beaten paintwork, lots of greenery around us, and the slick steel kitchen and brightly painted wall inside the barge itself. As for Stevie, I think you’ll agree these pictures speak for themselves - reckon we could be looking at the next OO7, let alone celebrity chef. Move over Daniel and Jamie I’d say… Here are a few for the moment Stevie:
This is the third time that I’ve photographed Helen. Last time was a family shoot with her gorgeous daughter Lily. This time Lily and Daddy came along at the start of the session before heading out to park and toy shop leaving Helen and me to spend an hour or so together on walkabout in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
It was great catching up with Helen, comparing notes on running ones own business and balancing that with being parents - we both have one girl apiece - so lots to compare on that front too.
Helen’s brief to me was to get some images for her new business venture - relaxed, warm, flattering but strong. Here are some of my favourites:
We’ve had some lovely light so far this year and on non-working days I’ve enjoyed shooting some pictures of family and friends. Here are a few over the last month - in the countryside, park, along the riverside and at the beach.
