Christmas Card shoot in Suffolk - Happy Christmas!

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Weather wise, we began this year much as we have ended it with a smattering of snow and gorgeous light almost daily. I shot these pictures early one morning at the beginning of January in a christmas tree plantation in Suffolk.

My beautiful and patient model Arabella, and her mum Sharon, were brilliant - clambering out of warm beds and, armed with hot chocolate and cookies, making their way out with me in the early darkness. Here is the resulting christmas card (and a black and white version I almost went for) and others I liked from the session.

Wishing all my clients, family and friends - old and new - a very Happy Christmas.

P.S. Cat and Paul: If you are reading this from your honeymoon in far eastern parts, I will be posting highlights of your wonderful wedding last Saturday very soon!

Publicity photography in Suffolk: Elly Botilda Antiques and Vintage

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

I have been out of action on the blogging front recently as I’ve been busy setting up my first and very own photographic studio here in Suffolk which is now looking great and is officially ready to shoot in. I will post some images and information about it soon and also the results from my first shoot there which is coming up.

As well as fulfilling print and product orders for Christmas, I’ve also been sourcing some new products for my family and wedding photography clients which I will also post about soon.

I love the calmness and methodical approach one needs to photograph interiors and still life - finding the right angles, assessing what light is available and what you need to add, working out what works best in the shot and how to arrange it etc.

I had the opportunity last week when I was asked by owner Anne-Marie Jacob to photograph a new Vintage and Antiques shop that she has recently opened in Uggleshall in Suffolk. For all those who love rummaging around in such places, this is a real aladdin’s cave of collectables with more and more pieces being brought in daily as Anne Marie and her mother Mille scour the county for new finds. I thoroughly recommend a visit. You will be warmly welcomed  and offered  tea and cakes whilst you browse. What could be better any day of the week:
