Wall products: Oak Box Frame and Contemporary multiaperture frame

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

For today’s post a couple of recent products I’ve produced for The Shah family whose baby Faris I photographed in the autumn starting off in London’s Hyde Park before returning to their home in Queensway.

They chose two products from my range: the Box Frame which comes in a choice of three mouldings: oak (as here) white or black.  Really any type of image looks great in these frames because of their sheer simplicity which also allows the image to do all the talking. The frame sits flush against the wall and the image sits level with the top of the 2 inch frame profile giving an image box effect. The prints are finished with a satin laminate to protect them in the years to come.

The other framed product the Shah family chose was this from my Contemporary multiaperture range. These beautiful quality and highly finished frames work really well in both a traditional and modern interior. The wood is soft wood pine/obeche. A gesso is applied to the wood and they are then finished in a smooth black or white laminate moulding.

The frames are available as single frames, which are great for individual images of your child/ren, and multi aperture frames. Multi aperture frames are a fantastic way to display a mini photo story of your shoot in a single frame as here.

This white multi aperture frame contains three 9″x6″ prints in a landscape layout, but there is also the option to go bigger with 12″x8″ prints. The overall size of this frame is 36″ x 17.5″ but you can see all details of products and sizes here

“All Voices to the Beach”: PR Photography in Aldeburgh, Suffolk: Aldeburgh Festival 2011

Monday, June 27th, 2011

Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun, but dogs, men women and children were out in force at noon yesterday on Aldeburgh beach for another of Aldeburgh Music’s free festival events.

With not a cloud in sight, and the midday sun at it’s highest, All Voices to the Beach kicked off with a traditional Punch and Judy show and a group of eager children.

Punch, who must be one of the earliest english anarchists in history (dating back to the 1500s I’m told), was in full swing following his usual pattern of driving Judy to distraction (she really should have left him years ago) and causing chaos with the baby, a string of sausages,  a mop and a constable..

At the end of the show, with Punch full scolded and chastised, the children turned to face the audience and forming smaller groups sang, with actions and in unison, various traditional english rhymes and songs with the theme of summer and the seaside.  Later they were joined by other singers emerging from various parts of the beach and finally everyone was invited to join in - a fully inclusive and uplifting spectacle and sound… and lovely to be a part of.

The full edit of pictures from this event - and the Semaphore event I covered on 19th June (click here to see highlights from that)  will be online shortly where you will be able to view and make print or framed print orders. In the meantime you can contact me on 07811 242266 or here if you would like to order anything now. Thank you.

Publicty Photography in Suffolk: Aldeburgh Festival 2011

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

I have been commissioned again by Aldeburgh Music to photograph a couple of events taking place in Aldeburgh, Suffolk as part of the Aldeburgh Festival.

These beach events epitomise for me performance at its best and most relaxed. The audience can pretty much sit, stand or move about anywhere - and no one bats an eyelid if you make a sandcastle, throw a stick for your dog or tuck into your fish and chips as you watch. It is just about as chilled as a Sunday morning should be.

Weather wise last Sunday was perfect in terms of the quality of the light - those well defined, heavy grey brooding clouds interspersed with shafts of intense sunlight that you get just before a downpour so typical of  this time of year.  Perfect for photography in Aldeburgh with it’s wonderful seafront houses, long flat beach and vast sky.

The performance was all about Semaphore - a new term to me but basically involves using flags as an alternative conducting tool. All ages dispersed themselves out across the beach with their instruments and responded to the movements of Duncan Chapman (who wrote the piece).  A series of drawing apart and coming together, doing your own thing and being part of a whole:  I couldn’t help thinking Pears and Britten would have approved..

There’s something about tubas and sousophones  - rather like clowns they make you feel happy and sad at the same time. Must be combination of size, shape and sound… but there’s also a dignity about them I think.

Publicity Headshots in London: Yellow Poppy Media

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

This week I spent the morning photographing Geraldine Woods and Anna Bruce, the partnership behind a brand new Talent Agency Yellow Poppy Media

Geraldine and Anna’s headquarters are in Tabernacle Street in the City where we launched out for a mid-morning stroll looking for the best light and backgrounds to take their own publicity portraits.

By the end of our session, it seemed patently clear to me that these two have all one could wish for in an agent -  total professionalism and expertise, experience, focus and ideas but also so importantly trust, warmth, humour and an infectious enthusiasm and positivity. They are just such fun and life affirming people to be around,  and around I suspect they will be for a very long time to come.

Here are some of my favourites from our session which I’m sure you’ll agree show how dymanic yet relaxed this duo are:

Happy Client - Corporate and PR Photography, City of London

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

I am delighted this morning to have this feedback on Linkedin from Leslie-ann Giovnilli who employed me to cover a corporate event last week at the Merchant Taylors Hall, City of London  (see previous post):

“Anna came to me as a recommendation from someone I trusted and I am so glad I employed her. During her shoot with us she was nicknamed ‘the sniper’ as she was everywhere at once but in no-ones way.
Her pictures are great, such depth and context with such a lot of the personality of each subject showing in each.
I would happily say that Anna is a professional that you need to employ if you are serious about looking good at your business.”
