Sophie’s message to me on receiving her wedding album:

I just wanted to say a huge thank you again for everything – for the pictures which are amazing, the stunning wedding album which we absolutely love and for all your help before, on and after the day making everything so easy. You were absolutely brilliant and everyone has commented on how great you were. From the first time meeting you made me feel super confident that you’d capture the day as we wanted in a totally hands off relaxed way. We could not have asked for more and we couldn’t be happier.

You can view a short Photofilm of images from Sophie & Andy’s wedding below by turning up your sound, clicking on the arrow below and putting it into full screen, or you can continue scrolling to read about their fun, super relaxed family and friends wedding day and view some of my favourite images.

Sophie & Andy were very clear from the get-go that they were going to have a relaxed, no fuss, low key wedding with their baby girl, some family and friends. The day began quietly with me capturing some images of Sophie getting ready with her sister and mum.

When Sophie first got in touch with me, her main preoccupation was to explain how much she recoils from any camera, that she wanted her day in every way to be the antithesis of traditional and formal, that she had a fairly new baby and a very cherished dog (Duke) and that some photographs on Richmond Terrace/Hill – an important part of her childhood – were a must.

As it turned out, Sophie was probably one of my most relaxed easy-going and incredibly calm brides. She looked absolutely stunning in her understated, sophisticated Dior dress and Louboutin heels.

My only slight moment of panic was when I thought the bus, that was supposed to include me on its journey to the registry office, seemed to be nowhere in sight, leaving me a nano-second to find a cab on a busy Saturday morning. I’m still not sure how I found that bus, I just took a lucky turn or two in the streets of Sheen, but did, somehow in the nick of time.

After the ceremony at York House registry office in Twickenham, the bus headed back to the house in Sheen via a 30 minute stop off at Richmond Terrace (a favourite childhood place for Sophie). Back at home Sophie and Andy hosted a little pre-party-in-the pub lunch in the garden - super relaxed with the babies and older children and immediate family.

The sun shone constantly and into a balmy West London summer’s evening at the wonderful Victoria pub which is so brilliantly set up outside and in for these kind of weddings. I especially loved the sign they had at the entrance which read Sophie and Andy’s Wedding #Trapped - which perfectly summed up humour and fun filled atmosphere of this wedding.

Sophie & Andy chose a beautiful fine art album carefully designed by me with their favourite images to tell the story of their day.

If you are planning a small low key wedding in Teddington, Twickenham, Richmond, Kingston or the surrounding area, I’d love to hear from you. And if yours is super close, as this one was where I had the luxury of just a 15 minute journey home at the end, I’ll be happy to give you a special ‘close to home’ rate.
