‘The whole experience was a real pleasure. You were absolutely brilliant with my children, and managed to get all three of them relaxed and behaving completely naturally - no mean feat when you’re working with a teenager! I was so impressed that you managed to get them all laughing and chatting in a natural and unposed way. You have completely captured their personalities and it is really special to have a record of a snapshot in their lives and to have some photos of me with my children, as I’m usually taking the snaps. Thank you Anna - the whole process from chatting to you about the type of photos we wanted, the shoot, choosing the images with you to receiving the final frames and prints has been brilliant.’

Photographing families and children in the winter when you have beautiful low sunlight like this is wonderful. The key is to get out early, in this case to the family’s local playground - Royal Bushy Park - when there are not so many folks around. Lots of running around, jumping on Daddy, piggyback, chat, jokes, games of Hide and Seek and Grandma’s Footsteps and just be together as a family.
Apart from when we come together to shoot some group family pictures of you all together, something most families don’t have and naturally want, I am just observing and capturing and the session is entirely family and child-led.
Some images from my December family shoot with Rachel and Matt and their girls in Bushy Park, Teddington.
